It pains my heart…
Just in: 5am woke up to excruciating screams outside my home…
6:35am was stunned to see & know the screams came from these youngsters here pictured… *Caught with a sac of aluminium roofing zinc… stolen from a shop along “”PDP Road” & decided to escape through “Chief Nelson Akoi Street” all in Yenizue-gene, only to be caught & greeted with beatings by Chief Akoi Street’s Vigilante, followed up by the hood people & later carried off by Döö Akpö…
What a sanitation morning.
see some reactions below;
Gloria Worlu The youngsters are wrong, but that doesn’t mean they should be beaten like that. They would have handed them over to authority. Jungle justice is not the best.
God help and heal our Nation.
Joseph Inyama The day we will stop saying “there is no excuse to crimes” especially among children and young people, that’s the day we will start taking strong actions against it. I believe Gigi posted this for society to wake up to the harsh realities facing Nigerian children in particular, young people in general, and the country at large, not necessarily for some holier than thou criticism here.
If we say that, there is law of Cause and Effect; then indeed some sort of social discomfort must have triggered this act.
Like Kelly rightly observed, THERE IS SERIOUS HUNGER IN THE LAND, but we only turn a blind eyes and deaf ears to it because you haven’t experience such level of hunger without no hope of who or where to lean on to.
Society must begin to do more to show everyone sense of community especially less privileged ones. Our leaders are failing us, we must be prepared to make the right decisions whenever possible.
I condemn the act, or stealing for survival, but the crux of this matter should be why these acts are increasingly rampant nowadays. The solution lies in how we choose to answer this question.
Chiff Timz TDg And the doo-akpo stationed themselves their like light poles and waited until the civilian vigilante group had apprehended them before coming to take them and subsequently taking bail money.. I just tire for our security sha.. It was still around that environment that I was robbed of all my household effects and the police no even apprehend fowl, instead when I reported the matter, the people assigned to me where trying to see what I will give to them to commence investigations & when nothing reasonable dropped, they abandoned me to my fate.. See young futures wey wan waist their lives… Smh
